About the Farm
Julie trains and coaches out of her own Burns Farm, a premier eventing facility located in Newnan, Georgia just 30 miles outside of Atlanta.
Having been in her family for years, Julie has developed the 52-acre property into a top-notch program.
The farm boasts two barns, the main barn with 25 stalls, and the adjacent barn has six. The main barn has three tack rooms, a feed room, lounge, three tack stalls, three wash stalls- two outdoor and one indoor- as well as a laundry area. The sand aisles give this barn a rustic and comfortable feel.
There are two arenas, one for jumping and the other dressage. The jumping arena is 60m x 150m, and the other arena is a standard dressage ring at 20m x 60m. There is also an exceptional cross country field with jumps ranging from Beginner Novice to Preliminary. There are ditches, banks and a water complex to offer a wide variety of technical questions.
In addition, there is an electric horse walker adjacent to the barn to provide extra conditioning for the clients that choose this amenity. There are five paddocks, 12 fields and two tracks for galloping. Julie takes pride in maintaining a laid-back and friendly environment with horse care as the number one priority.
The farm is conveniently located near several events such as Chattahoochee Hills Farm and Poplar Place Farm. In addition, Julie frequently travels to Aiken, South Carolina with her personal horses as well as students to provide an opportunity to leave the farm and gain more experience.
Coaching
Julie combines her skills as a rider and horseman as well as her belief in the fundamentals of riding to help her students succeed. Whether you are looking to conquer your first novice or you are riding at the 4* level, Julie’s training and attitude can help you accomplish whatever goals you may have.
Although Julie regularly competes her own horses, she trains and competes client’s horses as needed. Whether you want your horse to gain more mileage at a level, or have Julie fix a training issue, she will find a program that fits you and your horse’s needs. Julie believes in constantly furthering her knowledge, and has 5* eventer and Olympic Bronze Medalist Phillip Dutton visit the farm on a regular basis to teach clinics for Julie and her students. She provides a well-rounded program for the horses and students alike.
